The first adjustment for temperature means that the watch is just as accurate in frigid temperatures as it is in hot environments. The second adjustment is for isochronism. This assures accurate time-keeping immediately following winding it up in the foggy morning after an all night soiree as well as when it is winding down in the wee hours of the costume masquerade. The third adjustment is for riding a roller coaster... It will keep time even if you are upside down. And it's a LeCoultre, one of the finest timepieces ever made. The winding mechanism is nice and smooth and it keeps time beautifully. Cleaned, oiled, and adjusted, it has a second hand that is in a tiny magnified area at the bottom of the face. ART NOUVEAU LECOULTRE SOLD	LeCoultre Art Nouveau 19K Gold Wrist Watch (signed A LeCoultre on face, inside case is marked 19 1/2 Karat, WWC Mfg, 239316, works signed 15 Jewels, A LeCoultre, Swiss Blancplain, 3 adjustments, band signed 18K) Item VDLW8452 All business watch is sassy glam from way back when. Smartly styled in Art Nouveau style, that would be 1918 to 1920s, the watch is at home with slinky skirts and trendy suits, just as it hobnobbed with the mini chemise of the early 20th century. The original easy to read, rectangular, highly reflective, silver face shows numbers that turn around the face in an almost modern art look. (You've got to check out the picture of it to see what I mean). The luxe 19 and 1/2 karat gold watch and tailored original band of black silk is adjustable from 6" to 8" long and the clasp is a beautiful Art Nouveau design in 18K white gold. Sassy's seamstress can put on a fresh silk band for $20.00. Sassy's jewelry maven told me it's got the smoothest winding mechanism. 3 adjustments mean that it will keep time in extreme temperatures, altitude changes, and even when upside-down. Of course, this lovely piece was cleaned, oiled, and adjusted for today's hectic pace. The head of the watch is 1" by 1/2". The 2 diamonds are 3 points each. The face is original and easy to read. The watch was cutting edge when technology meant the horseless carriage, but so cutting edge fashion now. Finding an old LeCoultre is wonderful. Finding one associated with Blancplain, Sassy's other favorite high quality Swiss watch company is even better. But finding an Art Nouveau one is the absolute best! Totally rare!
