SOLD RARE ART DECO BUTTERSCOTCH BAKELITE NECKLACE	*****NEW LISTING***** Art Deco Butterscotch Bakelite Necklace Item BN6583 Be still my heart! You could have blown me over with a feather when I first saw this necklace. Coming straight from Beverly Hills, this breathtaking and extremely rare butterscotch bakelite necklace could have been in the Paris Art Deco Exhibition in 1928. It is more art deco that any deco piece I have seen in ages! Circa late 1920s to early 1940s, it has fabulous angular lines. The geometric centerpiece is a dramatic 3 and 1/8" across by 1 and 7/8" tall. And it is nice and thick with the base being 3/16" thick and when you include the beads, it is a little over 1" thick. The big butterscotch beads are wired through the angular centerpiece and connect around a little ring at the back with gold wires. 16 and 1/2" long, it closes with an old style spring ring clasp... you know... the ones with the tiniest thumb catches? RARE ART DECO IVORY & ENAMEL NECKLACE	Rare Art Deco Hand Cut Ivory and Enameled Necklace (not signed) Item VN4778 A little jazz and a lot of pizzaz! This beautiful, unique, and very rare 16 and 1/2" necklace combines innovative and very unusual composite. Sassy says she believes it is made up of crushed and pressed ivory. Then, each bead was enameled red. Following that, each one was machine or hand cut into the underlying ivory in an elaborate design so that the ivory appears in the crevaces. Not one bead is exactly like the next making her believe it is partly hand made and partly machine made... very interesting and unbelievably gorgeous!! Each very large 15mm bead has 10 sections. Cut design elements are delicate and symmetrical at once, making this a smashing, fun piece with real integrity of design, sure to attract first glances -- and this is what we really want isn't it? -- longer looks. Circa 1930s, the necklace has red solid enamel slightly hidden on each side of the beads to magnify the red color overlays.
